Recently we picked up a product at Costco called the Cansolidator by Shelf Reliance. Have you ever seen the new displays for can's of soup in the grocery stores? The racks that dispense can's of soup instead of the stacking of them on the shelf. You know the stacks at the end where a kid can pull a can out at the bottom and cause an avalanche? Well this is cool because it rotates can's, you can pull a can out and the next one rolls down.

Well we picked up a 2 pack and put them in our pantry. I loved how easy they were to assemble and put on the wire shelves in our pantry. Luckily height wise we had enough clearance, and depth wise they were perfect. We quickly learned how to adjust them for different size can's, and well we also quickly learned we needed more. All in all we have 6 of them now. 2 shelves with 3 on each shelf. We have them adjusted for soup, for tuna, for vegetable, and Ravioli can's. All of our consumer size can's are in this rack. We can easily see what we have of what items just by looking at the various slots. We can buy can's in bulk when on sale to re-stock. It rotates the cans so we always use the oldest can's first.

We have been wanting for a while now a shelf system for the garage that will do the same thing for our food storage #10 cans. Well we just ordered one of those this week too. I guess it's time to clear a spot in the garage.

I can't say enough good things about their products. So far all of their food storage products have been perfect. They allow us to store canned food items easily. Now if only we could find an easy way to store all of the other stuff in the pantry.

Wow it's been a while

Wow, it has been some time. I think I forgot I had a blog even. I twitter, I facebook, I read other blogs, and yet I forgot about this one. I pledge... I Pledge... I dunno what I pledge. Maybe I'll learn to blog.

Let us see what is new. Wait, in the last year I got a new job. That was 13 months ago. I went to work for Snohomish Health District as a Data Analyst / Application Systems Analyst. Well, With government funding at an all time low, I was forced to look for another job yet again. In a couple weeks I will go to work for Stevens Hospital in Edmonds.

More later. Maybe...

Great Quote about Palin and Wasilla Alaska.

Ahhh, I love this quote from Peggy Noonan

Another Bubblehead blind spot. I'm bumping into a lot of critics who do not buy the legitimacy of small town mayorship (Palin had two terms in Wasilla, Alaska, population 9,000 or so) and executive as opposed to legislative experience. But executives, even of small towns, run something. There are 262 cities in this country with a population of 100,000 or more. But there are close to a hundred thousand small towns with ten thousand people or less. "You do the math," the conservative pollster Kellyanne Conway told me. "We are a nation of Wasillas, not Chicagos."

A Threat to Human Kind, and our Country

I can not sit by and just let this man (IF you can call him a man even) get elected to President. With that, I present the first video I wish to share with anyone who finds this posting.

A Little more homework.

TERRY ANDERSON, A BLACK LOS ANGELES TALK RADIO HOST, WENT DOWN A LIST OF THINGS SENATOR OBAMA HAS SAID THAT AREN'T EXACTLY CORRECT...

Obama's Not Exactlys

1.) Selma March Got Me Born - NOT EXACTLY, your parents felt safe enough to have you in 1961 - Selma had no effect on your birth, as Selma was in 1965. (Google'Obama Selma ' for his full March 4, 2007 speech and articles about its various untruths.)

2.) Father Was A Goat Herder - NOT EXACTLY, he was a privileged, well educated youth, who went on to work with the Kenyan Government.

3.) Father Was A Proud Freedom Fighter - NOT EXACTLY, he was part of one of the most corrupt and violent governments Kenya has ever had.

4.) My Family Has Strong Ties To African Freedom - NOT EXACTLY, your cousin Raila Odinga has created mass violence in attempting to overturn a legitimate election in 2007, in Kenya . It is the first widespread violence in decades. The current government is pro-American but Odinga wants to overthrow it and establish Muslim Sharia law. Your half-brother, Abongo Oba ma, is Odinga's follower. You interrupted your New Hampshire campaigning to speak to Odinga on the phone. Check out the following link for verification of that...and for more. Obama's cousin Odinga in Kenya ran for president and tried to get Sharia muslim law in pla ce there. When Odinga lost the elections, his followers have burned Christians' homes and then burned men, women and children alive in a Christian church where they took shelter.. Obama SUPPORTED his cousin before the election process here started. Google Obama and Odinga and see what you get. No one wants to know the truth.

5.) My Grandmother Has Always Been A Christian - NOT EXACTLY, she does her daily Salat prayers at 5am according to her own interviews. Not to mention, Christianity wouldn't allow her to have been one of 14 wives to 1 man.

6.) My Name is African Swahili - NOT EXACTLY, your name is Arabic and 'Baraka' (from which Barack came) means 'blessed' in that language. Hussein is also Arabic and so is Obama. Barack Hussein Obama is not half black. If elected, he would be the first Arab-American President, not the first black President. Barack Hussein Obama is 50% Caucasian from his mother's si de and 43.75% Arabic and 6.25% African Negro from his father's side. While Barack Hussein Obama's father was from Kenya , his father's family was mainly Arabs.. Barack Hussein Obama's father was only 12.5% African Negro and 87.5% Arab (his father's birth certificate even states he's Arab, not African Negro). From....and for more....go to..... http://www.arcadeathome.com/newsboy.phtml?Barack_Hussein_Obama_-_Arab-American,_only_6.25%25_African

7.) I Never Practiced Islam - NOT EXACTLY, you practiced it daily at school, where you were registered as a Muslim and kept that faith for 31 years, until your wife made you change, so you could run for office. 4-3-08 Article 'Obama was 'quite religious in islam'' http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=60559

8.) My School In Indonesia Was Christian - NOT EXACTLY, you were registered as Muslim there and got in trouble in Koranic Studies for making faces (check your own book). February 28, 2008. Kristoff from the New York Times a year ago: Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent. In a remark that seemed delightfully uncalculated (it'll give Alabama voters heart attacks), Mr. Obama described the call to prayer as 'one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.' This is just one example of what Pamela is talking about when she says 'Obama's narrative is being altered , enhanced and manipulated to whitewash troubling facts.'

9.) I Was Fluent In Indonesian - NOT EXACTLY, not one teacher says you could speak the language.

10.) Because I Lived In Indonesia , I Have More Foreign Experience - NOT EXACTLY, you were there from the ages of 6 to 10, and couldn't even speak the language. What did you learn except how to study the Koran and watch cartoons.

11.) I Am Stronger On Foreign Affairs - NOT EXACTLY, except for Africa (surprise) and the Middle East (bigger surprise), you have never been anywhere else on the planet and thus have NO experience with our closest allies.

12.) I Blame My Early Drug Use On Ethnic Confusion - NOT EXACTLY, you were quite content in high school to be Barry Obama, no mention of Kenya and no mention of struggle to identify - your classmates said you were just fine

13.) An Ebony Article Moved Me To Run For Office - NOT EXACTLY, Ebony has yet to find the article you mention in your book. It doesn't, and never did, exist.

14.) A Life Magazine Article Changed My Outlook On Life - NOT EXACTLY, Life has yet to find the article you mention in your book. It doesn't, and never did, exist.

15.) I Won't Run On A National Ticket In '08 - NOT EXACTLY, here you are, despite saying, live on TV, that you would not have enough experience by then, and you are all about having experience first.

16.) Voting 'Present' is Common In Illinois Senate - NOT EXACTLY, they are common for YOU, but not many others have 130 NO VOTES.

17.) Oops, I Misvoted - NOT EXACTLY, only when caught by church groups and Democrats, did you beg to change your misvote.

18.) I Was A Professor Of Law - NOT EXACTLY, you were a senior lecturer ON LEAVE.

19.) I Was A Constitutional Lawyer - NOT EXACTLY, you were a senior lecturer ON LEAVE.

20.) Without Me, There Would Be No Ethics Bill - NOT EXACTLY, you didn't write it, introduce it, change it or create it.

21.) The Ethics Bill Was Hard To Pass - NOT EXACTLY, it took just 14 days from start to finish.

22.) I Wrote A Tough Nuclear Bill - NOT EXACTLY, your bill was rejected by your own party for its pandering and lack of all regulation - mainly because of your Nuclear donor, Exelon, from which David Axelrod came.

23.) I Have Released My State Records - NOT EXACTLY, as of March, 2008, state bills you sponsored or voted for have yet to be released, exposing all the special interests pork hidden within.

24.) I Took On The Asbestos Altgeld Gardens Mess - NOT EXACTLY, you were part of a large group of people who remedied Altgeld Gardens . You failed to mention anyone else but yourself, in your books.

25.) My Economics Bill Will Help America - NOT EXACTLY, your 111 economic policies were just combined into a proposal which lost 99-0, and even YOU voted against your own bill.

26.) I Have Been A Bold Leader In Illinois - NOT EXACTLY, even your own supporters claim to have not seen BOLD action on your part.

27.) I Passed 26 Of My Own Bills In One Year - NOT EXACTLY, they were not YOUR bills, but rather handed to you, after their creation by a fellow Senator, to assist you in a future bid for higher office.

28.) No One on my campaign contacted Canada about NAFTA - NOT EXACTLY, the Canadian Government issued the names and a memo of the conversation your campaign had with them.

29.) I Am Tough On Terrorism - NOT EXACTLY, you missed the Iran Resolution vote on terrorism and your good friend Ali Abunimah supports the destruction off Israel .

30.) I Want All Votes To Count - NOT EXACTLY, you said let the delegates decide.

31.) I Want Americans To Decide - NOT EXACTLY, you prefer caucuses that limit the vote, confuse the voters, force a public vote, and only operate during small windows of time.

32.) I passed 900 Bills in the State Senate - NOT EXACTLY, you passed 26, most of which you didn't write yourself.

33.) I Believe In Fairness, Not Tactics - NOT EXACTLY, you used tactics to eliminate Alice Palmer from running against you.

34.) I Don't Take PAC Money - NOT EXACTLY, you take loads of it.

35.) I don't Have Lobbysists - NOT EXACTLY, you have over 47 lobbyists, and counting.

36.) My Campaign Had Nothing To Do With The 1984 Ad - NOT EXACTLY, your own campaign worker made the ad on his Apple in one afternoon.

Wow.. What a book..

OK, yes it's been a while since I posted. I've had in the back of my mind that I need to post something, but I was having a hard time thinking of what to say. Well all of that changed tonight as I continued to reflect on a book I finished today. I actually only started it in the last couple days. I had a hard time putting the book down and today as I was riding the bus home, it brought tears to my eyes. I'm not sure I can recall any other book that has truly brought tears to my eyes.

The Book in question: Heaven Scent by Rebecca Talley

The reviews and descriptions on the Amazon site really tell about the story better than I ever could. Let me see if I can sum it up briefly.

Liza is a high school senior. Her father recently got a new job and moved their family to a more well to do neighborhood. With his new position he worked a lot more. He worked so much that it was seriously taking it's toll on his family. Liza cried out for her father, and he wouldn't make time for her. Her mother asked him to leave. That is when everything changes. He says he is going to change. He claims he sees the light. He works late one day, and because of that choice the family is seriously turned up side down. Liza has to over come extreme anger at her father and learn to forgive. It's not easy, but she gets through it with the aid of her new "Mormon" friend. The Plan of Salvation plays a role in this book, along with The Book of Mormon.

It's hard to say why exactly this book brought tears to my eyes. Maybe it was the severe adversity that had to be over come. Maybe it was the softening of her heart. Maybe it was the fear that maybe I could unknowingly have my family angry because I fear neglecting them myself. Maybe it was understanding how the Holy Ghost testified to her the truth of the gospel.

I don't know that if you read this book you too will have the same emotional feeling I had reading this book. All I know is I deeply enjoyed this book and it has had my mind working and thinking about these truths that I have a testimony of.

Ahh the day of rest...

Well it's the Sabbath, and we actually woke up in time for church today. Last week we just didn't seem to get our rear ends out of bed. It was a good day at church, although we did seem to be a bit tired. Why is it that that we are always so tired on Sundays? Could it be the long days during the week? Or could it be the way our minds are programmed to slow down on Sundays and do no work / shopping / what ever else we didn't get done during the week?

I think it's a little of both. I know that if I didn't have a testimony of observing the Sabbath that I would probably be out running around on Sundays doing the things I didn't get done the other 6 days of the week.

Today we came home after church, had some lunch, and then took a nice long NAP. Still tired, of course that could have something to do with the Pancakes we just had for dinner. Hopefully we will still be able to sleep tonight.

So what do YOU do on the Sabbath? Today, we 1) Got up, 2) got ready for Church 3) went to Church 4) Came home had Lunch, 5) Took a LONG nap 6) Dinner 7) Blogging... Not sure what else we will do tonight. Wow, I just saw the clock. Where oh where did our Day of Rest go? Next time I get out of bed it will be the start of another hectic work week. Will I be able to get accomplished those things I need to this week? Only time will tell. I do say I look forward to my next day of rest...

So post in the comments what you do on Sundays.

Over my dead body

My wife has this thing for the Twilight saga by stephanie meyer.

Today she updated her blog layout a little bit.. (She had the NERVE TO TAKE MY LAYOUT So I HAD to change..) and she put on this in a place I can't even comment on it...

"My heart belongs to my husband, but Edward Cullen can have my neck!"

Well here is my official comment.... OVER MY DEAD BODY! Oh wait, Edward could arrange for that... Well Still it's the POINT, that IF she gives any part of her body to another man, vampire or not... Well OK if she wants to make that choice, it is her choice.. But I take offense to it. That might be my choice, but again it's MY choice to be offended by her wanting to give any part of her body to someone else. Fictional or not.
